International Mini-Course in Wine and Wine Culture
Designed for both the professional and the avid wine lover with limited time. This course is designed to cover most major wine styles, qualities and regions throughout the world plus a comprehensive understanding of defective (faulty) wines, how to access quality or grade wines and how to combine wine with food.
In our International mini-Course (3days) you will learn how to taste and grade wines in relation to their variety, color, aroma, taste, and balance. You will also learn how to identify both red and white wines from major wine regions throughout the world including red, white, Champagne and fortified wines. You will be introduced to the world of wine through our tried and successful approach by fundamentally covering wine both practically and didactically.

Day 1

Welcome and introduction to the course
Introduction to red wines, vinification and vitification
Sensory identification (bitterness, saltiness, acidity, tannin, CO2, alcohol, fruit,...) and aroma characteristics such as red and dark berries, and much more.
Tasting and grading procedures with two tasting sessions.

Day 2

Introduction to white wines, Champagne and their vinification procedures.
Sensory identification (bitterness, saltiness, acidity, tannin, CO2, alcohol, fruit,...) and aroma characteristics such as red and dark berries, and much more.
Two tasting and grading sessions.

Day 3

Introduction to fortified wines: Sherry, Port, Madeira and their vinification procedures. Sensory identification (bitterness, saltiness, acidity, tannin, CO2, alcohol, fruit,...) and aroma characteristics such as red and dark berries, and much more. Two tasting and grading sessions.
Summary and certificate presentation.

Course Times: 09.30 to12:30 Lunch 13:30 to 16:30

Requirements: A minimum of 9 participants. All participants must be over the age of 21years to attend the course.
